A gorgeous Thomas & Thomas “Midge” bamboo fly rod, 7’, 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #5743. The rod weighs 3.5 ounces. Fast D.F. action. This is my favorite T&T model. This one has been lawn cast and is near mint condition. There is a very small amount of brassing to the inner snake guide and cosmetic casting cracks to the mid female wrap. Otherwise the rod is in perfect condition and straight as a pin. This rod has standout engraving throughout, including on the ferrules, the seat cap and ring, and all the brass tube hardware. It is right up there with the best engraving I have seen. The cane is tiger striped / flamed and configured in a three up node pattern with mirrored tips. The varnish, as with most T&T’s, is flawless and like a pane of glass. The main wraps are clear with light brown edges, dark brown at the ferrules and tipped with black edges on all. The stripper is a banded agate and the snakes are black nickel. The ferrules are swiss style with a collar on the males, and oxidized (100% intact) and engraved. The grip is 5" long and shaped to a heavy cigar profile. The slide band seat is burl walnut, perfectly varnished, though shows some minute signs of use (a faint reel foot impression). The hardware is oxidized and engraved on all surfaces. The rod comes in a tan cloth bag with a stiffener. The tube is black crackle painted with brass fittings, all of them engraved, and has a T&T data sticker.

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
