An H.S. "Pinky" Gillum bamboo fly rod, 12', 3-piece, 1-tip. 15.1 ounces. Although there is no signature or die stamp, two independent experts concur with my identification of this rod as a Gillum. Additional information has this rod coming from the Gillum family as Winnie's personal rod, used in the early season. The tube has a shipping label from Martin Keane. Mahogany color cane temper with a two-opposed-node pattern. Superb varnish. Gold main wraps with black edges throughout, and a band of gold and black at the keeper. The stripper is a carbide ring with heavy-wire snake guides. The step ferrules are oxidized jet black. The ferrule fits are as new and the rod is straight. The cigar front grip is 10" long, with a 5" long all-aluminum uplock screw-lock featuring a typical Gillum very-long nut. There are some spots of corrosion on the screwlock barrel. The bottom grip section is 5" long, not including the red rubber button. I suspect the bag is not original, but the tube is.
