A Per Brandin quad bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4. #26 and lettered “Standard four DF". 3.2 oz. Semi-parabolic, medium action. Condition is used with soiling to the grip, some cosmetic cracks to the ferrule wraps, and light sets to the upper tips. Four strip rod. Dark tan color cane with small nodes. Light but excellent coat of varnish. The main wraps are a light reddish-brown (this is an early N.Y. period rod). Black edges at the keeper, ferrule, and tip tops. The stripper is an orange agate and the snake guides are bronze. The grip is 5 1/2" long and has a slight heel at the back and is largest at the squared-off front, mated to a varnished walnut burl front cork check. The reel seat is polished nickel silver cap and ring and the flatted, varnished burled walnut is very attractive. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag with pull top and an aluminum tube with brass fittings.
