Fresh in on consignment is this 7' 2/2 #5 Hunt Pattern in lawn-cast only condition. This is a very early 1980's rod with a wood lip to the cork diameter and no roller die stamp. It is signed "Aroner 7' #5 DF Hunt Pattern". The reel seat has a mortised burl walnut spacer under an oxidized cap and ring. The wraps are done in "may rose" pink silk with barely visible orange edges. The rod has a hook keeper and the ferrules are my truncated swiss (oxidized). The tips are mirrored, the sections perfectly straight, and the varnish is flawless. The bag and polished brass cap tube are correct for the period. I've added an updated brass-and-cork ferrule plug for the female on the butt section. The only signs of use on this rod are a speck of rub wear on the butt cap and a little bright patch on the inside of the guides. This is the earlier faster action rod, as I would later changed my 2-pc design to a more moderate action in order to offer a wider range of taper options.
