A nice Bill Harms fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #4 line. Serial #702-012. 3.2 ounces. Fast DF action. A tiny bit of brassing to the interior snake guides on the butt indicate some lawn casting, but the rod appears unfished. The grip is clean and untanned. The cane is a medium wheat straw color and done in a spiral node pattern. The main wraps are dark olive with blad edges and black at the ferrules. Agate stripper and snake brand guides. A light scheme of black intermediates decorate the rod. Swiss-style ferrules with a double trim mark. The ferrules are oxidized as are the cap and ring. The butt has a nicely proportioned swell. The grip is a 5 1/2" long medium blunt cigar. The cap and ring seat retain 100% of the original oxidation except for a tiny bit of brassing edge wear to the cap. Call it 98% retained. The mortised seat looks like a varnished figured walnut but has some varnish roughness in one spot. The rod is packed in a dark olive cloth bag and a green painted rod tube with Bill Harms logo painted on it. Nice rod from this Pennsylvania maker.
