Bob Clay (Riverwatch) Bamboo Fly Rod 11' 3/2 #5/6 [SALE PENDING]

A nice Bob Clay (Riverwatch) "Dean's Kispiox" bamboo fly rod, 11', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #5 or #6 line. Serial #24667. Pentagonal design with Bob's composite ferrules. Unfished condition. Several reels were fit to the rod to figure out a suitable pairing (there are some small reel foot indentations in the reel seat spacer) but the rod was never fished and I can find no signs of use. Medium, full flexing action. Moderately flamed cane with a light matte oil-rubbed finish. The nodes are done in a random, vaguely spiral-ish, configuration. The rod is nice and straight. The composite sleeve-over ferrules are done in a dark brown color that nicely complements the cane. The butt and lower mid feature carbide strippers with dark snake guides the rest of the way and large hoop tip-tops. The wraps are a medium brown throughout with darker red tipping. The upper grip features a flared top with composite rings acting as rear and front cork checks. The real seat is a polished downlocking screw lock with a lightish wood spacer, and the ring has Bob's name stamped into it as well as a design of a fish. The lower grip also features a flared heel with three differently colored composites as you work toward the bottom. At the very bottom of the rod, you can see the cross-section of the bamboo blank in the composite end , a nice little touch that Bob is known for. The rod packs into a brown corduroy rod bag and aluminum tube with Bob's logo sticker on the outside. A nice configuration for light steelhead or salmon fishing.
