A very nice Bogdan 300 Salmon reel, all-black in RHW configuration. It doesn't get any better than this model for spey fishing on larger salmon rivers. This is the second largest model in the Bogdan lineup, with a 3.75" diameter and 1.375" spool width. Built to fish #10 lines it holds 200 yards of 20 lb backing and weighs 12.5 ounces. Near mint condition with just some faint mounting marks to the foot and two small marks on the inner part of the frame edge in one area. Very clean throughout with no other signs of use that I could find (even the drag adjuster which is prone to brassing has none here). The reel couldn't have been fished more than a few times, especially when you consider that these black anodized models tend to reveal signs of use more readily than their lighter counterparts. Black anodized frame with black sideplates and a black spool. Silver handle, foot, oil port cover, drag adjustment housing, poacher's knob and Bogdan nameplate. This reel has the renowned Bogdan double brake drag design that will stop any salmon you are lucky enough to get into, as well as a 2:1 multiplier retrieve. "300" stamped on the underside of the foot between the screws. These 300 models are quite rare, especially in all-black. Furthermore, in addition to the original Bogdan suede pouch, this one has a mint Arne Mason block case with "Bogdan 300" tastefully embossed in gold on the top, as nice a case as you could wish for. These don't pop up for sale very often, don't let this one get away!
