A nice Bogdan model 300M fly reel, 3 3/4" diameter with a 1 5/8" spool width, set up for RHW. Weighs 15 ounces and designed to hold a #12 line with 225 yards of 20# backing. Pale gold frame, spool, and sideplates with black foot, crank handle, drag adjuster, oil port cover, and poacher's knob. Silver Bogdan nameplate. The brake pads are the later delrin rather than the earlier micarta. Excellent plus condition with a small amount of very mild rash to the rim at the usual "resting place" on the reel where it touches the ground or bottom of a boat. The rest of the rims and frame are pristine, in fantastic shape. The foot has some mounting marks from where it has been secured to the reel seat, and there is some mild brassing to the drag adjuster and counterbalance. "M.C. Rentschler" lightly but professionally engraved on the crank plate along with the date "1967". I believe that Mary Rentschler was the first woman to be a member of the Moisie Salmon Club, a nice bit of provenance here. The reel comes in the original Bogdan suede bag. A nice model here perfect for larger two-handed rods.
