An unusual Bogdan "Rings Up" Salmon reel, 3 1/2" diameter and set up for RHW. This reel appears to be based off the model 50 and has a single action retrieve with a ported spool and front plate. Notably, it has a stainless steel line guide where the third pillar would normally be, which I have seen on only three other Bogdans. This rectangular guide was clearly not an "add on" and is placed in such a way that it allows one to fish in the classic style known as "rings up". There is no model number on the foot, which also suggests that this was a custom reel that Stan built for what I imagine to have been a valued customer (Stan built very few truly custom models outside of his normal catalog). There are some mounting marks on the foot, a few tiny marks on the rims, a small amount of rubbing on the anodizing on the drag adjuster, and a small mark or two on the backplate. These are all quite minor, however, and I would rate this unusual reel as excellent condition overall. The frame is a very light champagne color and the sideplates are the usual black anodized. The foot, crank, oil port, poacher's knob, and Bogdan nameplate are all the usual silver. Comes with what appears to be an original bag. A very unusual Bogdan that would make a great addition for a collector who has all of the normal cataloged reels.
