For sale here is a rarely seen Per Brandin hollowbuilt six-strip (hex) bamboo rod -- 8'9" 2/2 for a WF7 line. Model 897-2 S/S "Mahogany" built in 2013. The rod remains in mint condition with the exception of a very small mark in the wood spacer on the reel seat.
From Per's website, "When I know I will be fishing dry flies or hitched wets, I love to fish a lighter #7 line. It is perfect as a grilse rod when you also have a good chance of hooking a larger salmon, or of course as a light steelhead dry fly rod."
The rod features beautiful mahogany-toned cane with a matte finish; matching wraps with oxblood tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules, and tip-tops. Agate stripping guide. Full-wells grip measuring 6 1/2" in length. Cap and ring reel seat with a handsome extended butt cap (F.E. Thomas Streamer style!) that accepts the included 3 1/4" fighting butt. The truncated Swiss-style ferrules have a perfect fit. Micarta ferrule plug. The rod weighs in at 4.71 oz. without the fighting butt and 6.05 oz. with. Includes the original bag with a sleeve for the fighting butt, the original labeled tube, and fine canvas tube cover.

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
