For sale here is a quite special Walt Carpenter bamboo rod. The original owner dubbed it the "North Pond". As he so aptly states it, "it's nothing special, just a pond in the Northwoods of Maine with exquisite brook trout."
8' 3/2 5-6wt Browntone. Serial no. 20580. The rod is in excellent overall condition. All sections are full length and reasonably straight. Fished carefully.
Moderately tempered browntone cane with chestnut wraps and black tipping. Black, gold, and purple tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. The tips are numbered for convenience. Ring hook keeper. Reverse half wells grip measuring 6 3/4" in length with moderate soiling. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The locking ring features the "W.E. Carpenter MAKER" stamp. The ferrules have an excellent fit. One of the tip tops is slightly misshapen but this is of no concern. The rod weighs 4.60 oz. Smooth action on the medium side of medium-fast.
Includes the original bag and fine Arne Mason leather tube with "W.E. Carpenter MAKER" stamp on the cap.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
