Chris Vance Fly Rod 8'4" 2/2 #5

484

A hard to find Chris Vance fly rod, 8'4", 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #5 line. Serial #845.117. According to the hangtag it weighs 3.27 oz and my scale has it awfully close at 3.4 oz. This rod has a medium-fast action and is in lightly used condition. Only a tiny amount of hand soiling indicates any use. The cane is flamed and the node pattern is 2 opposed. Belt sanded nodes. The wraps are brown edged in black at the keeper wrap (no keeper), stripper, ferrules, and tip tops. The finish is minimalist and I would say that it is neither shiny nor matte. The swiss-style ferrules are oxidized and extremely truncated, with the male slides measuring 7/16". The grip is 5" long and in a half wells configuration. The reel seat is all cork with a nickel silver ring and pocket cap. There are a few tiny spots of edgewear to the hardware oxidation. The rod is straight and ready to use, and comes supplied with a grey cloth bag with a hangtag, a ferrule plug, and an aluminum tube.

Shipping Information
We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
Other Terms
Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
