A David Reid Fall Run bamboo fly rod, 11'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #7/8/9 line. This is a spliced joint two handed rod, made to cast modern shooting heads and spey lines. The maker's name, the model, the original owner's name, as well as the serial number "74-0619" are all inked on the shaft. The rod weighs 12.9 ounces on my scale. Lightly used condition with some cosmetic wear throughout, though no significant issues that I could find. There are some issues with the varnish here and there and tape residue where the splices were done together (this could be removed, but I will leave it to the new owner to decide whether to do it). The cane is a medium straw color and done in a three opposed node pattern. Wrapped in a light olive green with black tipping throughout with two large agate strippers, dark snakes, and tip tops. The grip measures 25" in full, with the top grip measuring 16", the reel seat 4", and the bottom grip 5". The top grip as a mild taper from bottom to top which flares abruptly at the end, and features composite cork. The bottom grip does likewise in the other direction with the bottom of the rod ending in a similar composite cork flare. There are several bands of composite just below each flare, with multiple types of composite comprising each area. The reel seat is an oxidized downlocking aluminum slideband over what appears to be a spanish cedar wood spacer. The rod comes with brown leather splice protectors and packs into a canvas rod bag and an aluminum tube with the data sticker affixed to the outside.
