A very nice Dickerson 8013 Model Bamboo Fly Rod, 8 ft., 2-piece, 3 tips, and built for what feels like a #5 line. Typical Dickerson fast action and very pleasant to cast. The rod appears to be in excellent original condition, including all three tips and devoid of any issues that I could see save some very minor cosmetic wear. The grip has been cleaned leaving it slightly ridgy and the nickel silver butt cap has some oxidation/patina but that's about it. The oxidation on the ferrules is perfectly intact and the rod is arrow straight. "Dickerson 8013—48" Is inked on the shaft, indicating a 1948 manufacture date. Three up node pattern construction with handsome medium wheatstraw colored cane. Characteristic Dickerson wrapping scheme with very light honey wraps with black tipping throughout. The rod has a stripping guide with bronzed standard guides the rest of the way. The step ferrules, as mentioned, are in terrific shape. The grip is 6" and shaped to a medium cigar with a very slight flare at the heel. The real seat features an aluminum down-locking screw lock with a nickel silver butt cap. The rod packs into a brown cloth bag and aluminum tube with brass fittings, all of which appear to be the original. A very nice example of this model, especially with the extra tip included.
