Dingley 4" Perfect Fly Reel - Westley Richards

For sale here is a Dingley 4" Perfect-style fly reel made for retailer Westley Richards. Stamped D1 and 1 throughout. Stamped on winding plate "Westley Richards and Co Ltd Birmingham". This excellent+ condition reel is RHW and comes with a nice and strong check with spare spring/pawl from the 1930's. Ball bearing race on the winding plate. Knurled tensioner works perfectly. Copper line guide. Gear teeth and pawls are still very sharp. Un-filed original smooth brass reel foot with four screws. The ebonite handle spins freely. The reel has no wobble or end play. The length of the reel foot is 3 1/8". No cracks/chips or prior repairs. Majority of original leading remaining. The spool screw is slightly too short and does not thread into the spindle tightly. You would need a replacement screw made, or you could swap out a longer screw from another one of your Dingley reels.
