An E.F. Payne bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 or #7 line. 5.3 ounces. Full length and in moderately used original condition. There are some casting cracks at the ferrule wraps and some minor scratches and scuffing to the varnish. The ferrules seat fully and the rod is straight. Flamed, oven-tempered chestnut-color cane. The main wraps are brown with black edges and extra bands of yellow and purple at the keeper and male ferrule wraps. The step ferrules are jet black oxidized. The stripper is an agate and the bronzed snake guides are reverse twist. Small hoop tip-tops. The grip is a lightly sculpted 6" long western with a hidden pocket cap. The spacer is varnished Spanish cedar. The aluminum uplocking screw-lock is stamped "Payne" in cartouche and "Reg U.S. Pat. Off." and "Made in U.S.A." on the reverse. The grip is relatively clean and free of defects. The olive poplin bag is missing the hang tag and the tube is original but the cap has lost the original felt insert.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
