For sale here is a one-of-a-kind item - Ernest Dingley's personal Wheatley fly box. Ernest was the son of the master reelmaker William Henry Dingley and carried on the fine reelmaking tradition from the 1920s, ultimately running the shop after WWII and his father's passing. This item comes with provenance details directly from Ernest's son, Raymond Dingley, along with Raymond's signature.
The box has the Wheatley diamond logo and measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2". Buy some angling history - it has been in the Dingley family since new.
For those of you unfamiliar with this legacy, I suggest you review this section of my website and better yet, this book chronicles for the first time the life and work of the Dingley family.
This and the other Dingley family items listed here are in the possession of Brian Taylor, co-author of the Dingley book. The items will ship from the UK.
