For sale here is a vintage Fenwick - Model SF74-4 fly/spin combo rod. The rod is a 7' 6wt and also capable of lures 1/8 - 3/8 oz. with 3-6 lb. line. 4 pc. construction. Serial no. E41934. Most likely made in the late 1960's to 1970's. The rod is in excellent condition with only modest signs of honest fishing use. The fiberglass blank is a classic dark amber color. The wraps are a chestnut brown with white tipping and black and white tipping at the female ferrules. There is a braided spiral wrap at the hook keeper. All writing and labels on the rod remain clean and bold free of defects. Bright snake guides well suited for both fly and spin fishing. The long full wells grip is soiled but in fine condition. The spinning reel seat is dual sliding bands on the wells grip. The fly reel seat is an aluminum down-locking type. Both function perfectly. The sections seat together well and are free of defects. There are no cracks or otherwise. The action is fast, though it is rated for a #6 fly line, I feel a modern #5 would also work. The rod weighs 3. 80 oz. Includes original plaid rod bag with Fenwick tag. No tube. Don't miss out on this interesting vintage fishing rod.
