For sale here is a Harold S. "Pinky" Gillum 9'6" 2/2 salmon fly rod. Serial no. I929. The rod is in excellent+ condition. There are a few very minor use marks in the varnish. The last guide up on one of the tips exhibits very light fraying on the edge of the upper wrap. The winding check and wrap are both replacements. All sections are full length and arrow straight.
Fine hand brushed matte finish and resorcinol glue lines. Chestnut silks with black and white tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Bright guides. Reverse-half wells grip 7 1/8" in length with only light soiling. There are a few minor areas on the grip with filler. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The knurled butt cap is removable to accept a fighting butt. The butt cap seats with a friction fit copper ferrule, the fit is perfect. The fighting butt is not included. The blued nickel silver Super-Z brand ferrules are size 18/64 with an excellent fit. Indented witness marks on the ferrules. The rod weighs in at an even 8 oz. The rod has a medium fast action and gives the impression it could cast line into the next county. Includes the original bag and tube with the label partially intact.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
