For sale here is a beautiful Granger Aristocrat Model 8040 bamboo rod -- 8' 3/2 for a 4 or 5 weight line. The rod is in excellent+ original condition with a few exceptions. The first guide up on the mid-section has been re-wrapped. Also, it appears that the rod may have received a light varnish overcoat. The rod is free of any other repairs, full length, and straight.
Classic Granger ammoniated cane with bronze colored silks and dark chestnut tipping. The inking on the butt remains clean and sharp though lightly faded. The western-style grip is in excellent condition and only lightly soiled. There is a small chunk missing at the bottom of the grip where it was used as a hook-keeper. Granger nickel silver patented up-locking reel seat works flawlessly and very smooth. There is one very minor dent on the backside of the seat. The ferrule fit is excellent. The rod has a lovely medium-fast dry-fly action a bit faster than most 8040s. The gradually swelled butt provides plenty of strength and backbone while the thin tips are well suited for delicate dry-fly work and tippet protection. Although all-around a very versatile rod. The 8040 is considered by many to be the best Model in the Granger/W&M lineup. Includes the original bag and tube with 30% of the label remaining.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
