For sale here is a rod you won't find on the resale market very often, a Carlson Four quad made by Dana Gray, owner of the Carlson Rod Company. Dana is at the top of the list of worldwide cane rod makers and it's well known that his waiting list for a new rod is ~ seven years. This rod has been fished very sparingly but remains in near mint condition. 7 1/2 feet in length. Two sections with two tips. Medium fast action for a five weight line. Ferrule fit is excellent. The rod weighs 4 1/2 oz.
Dana uses highest quality bamboo culms that are 50 years old in constructing these beauties. He makes his own ferrules. The guides and ferrules on this rod offered here are oxidized and the finish remains 100% intact, even on the tip tops where the wear develops the quickest over time from contact with the fly line. All wraps are still 100% perfect. Anything you see in the photos is glare from the natural light or glare from the other metal close by. The aluminum up-locking reel seat is unblemished. The grip shows the slightest of soiling. The rod comes with the original bag and brass-capped and die-stamped tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Other Terms
- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
