For sale here is a semi-hollowbuilt bamboo rod handcrafted in Japan by Katsumi Harada - 7 1/2 feet, 2/1 for a 2-3 weight line. This is a new model made in 2015 and features a female ferrule with bamboo on the inside and truncated brass tubing externally. The male spigot ferrule is made of bamboo. Beautiful cherry (sakura) spacer with a thin oil coating. Translucent brown silk wraps with gold edges. The rod weighs 2 5/8 oz. Medium progressive action and plenty of reserve power with a strong butt section. 3x3 node pattern. The urethane varnish is exquisitely applied. The cigar grip length is 4 7/8" with 1/2" rings. Comes with high-quality custom rod bag.
Harada-san likes casting the rod with a SUPRA WF J-STREAM 2wt line, which has a heavy head. I would either recommend this line or a standard WF3 or DT3 line.
Harada-san is constantly improving his revolutionary designs and this rod is one I am very proud to offer here at Vintage Fly Tackle.
Don't let this one get away. Harada rods usually sell very quickly, which is a good indicator of their quality and is also an indicator that we may need to raise prices in the future ;-)
