For sale here is an extremely scarce, original Hardy Bougle fly reel in excellent+ condition. 3" diameter. The full-length smooth foot is made from the same alloy as the reel and is attached with 4 screws. It has an ivorine handle, nickel silver rim tension regulator screw with brass bridge. The check dates the reel between 1903 and 1905. The drum locks by means of a left-hand threaded screw. Stamped inside on the frame, spool and winding plate is “1". The bottom pillar is a roller pillar. The length of the reel foot is 2 7/16".
John Shaner of Hardy & Greys Limited inspected this reel and suggested to the prior owner that it was one of the finest old Bouglés he had come across.
Reel comes with the leather case shown, like the old Hardy D block cases, but this one was made recently by Olaf Kundrus.
Please note: Payment is requested by bank check or wire transfer. If you must pay by Paypal or credit card, an extra charge of 3-4% will apply depending on where the rod will be shipped.
