For sale here is a Hardy Bougle Limited Edition fly reel commemorating the 1903 Hardy Bougle model. These reels were all made in England. This particular reel was made by John Sheil of Hardy Bros. as can be seen by his initials, JWS. This is serial #074.
I am selling three of these reels, all of which suffered some water damage during a recent flood event. The mechanics remain true however. The cosmetic damage doesn't prevent these reels from being fished or operating flawlessly. If you've ever owned one of these rare little 2 1/2" reels but couldn't force yourself to fish it, well this is your chance to get one you can actually use! These reels are being offered at a substantial discount to the ones you see for sale from time to time that all seem to be in mint condition with original box and papers. These reels do not come with anything except the reel itself.
This particular reel is the only one of the three where the owner of the reels tried using Flitz to even out the tarnish on the winding plate, so it looks a bit more shiny than the original finish (and the other two reels for sale here). Other than that, the reel has not been repaired in any way, nor does it need to be.

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Other Terms
- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
