For sale here is a Hardy Bros. "Salmon De-Luxe" Hollokona 9' 3/2 7wt bamboo rod. Serial #H70432, made in 1956. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length and straight, the tips were made 3/4" shorter than the mid and butt.
The rod features browntone cane with Chinese red wraps and black tipping using the usually thicker thread of English rods. Bright guides. Clear agate stripping guide. The wrap-around script remains clean and bold. Full wells grip 7" in length with mild soiling and a bit of very light ridging towards the top. Aluminum up-locking reel seat with a handsome bakelite spacer. The hard rubber fighting butt unscrews to accept the custom made 2 1/4" cork and rubber fighting butt or the original 4 1/4" cork fighting butt. The ferrules are size 13/64 and 19/64 with an excellent fit. Includes original ferrule plugs. The rod weighs 7.25 oz. with the rubber butt cap. The action is medium-fast with plenty of backbone. Despite the weight and length, the rod balances very well in the hand. A terrific dry-fly salmon or steelhead rod. Includes the original bag with a sleeve for the fighting butt and aluminum tube with brass fittings.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
