For sale here is a Hardy Bros. The "Tourney" 9' 2/1 6-7wt bamboo rod. Serial no. E96836, made in 1955. The rod is in mostly original condition, the butt cap has been re-glued back on and the guide wraps received a light varnish touch-up coat. All sections are full length with sets in both. The tip section was made 3/4" shorter than the butt.
The rod features bright pumpkin colored cane with dark burgundy wraps. Agate tip-top. The script remains clean and bold. The full wells grip measures 6 1/4" in length with only light wear. Bright aluminum cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer. The blued step-down Swiss-style ferrules are size 17/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 5.65 oz. The medium-fast dry-fly action is swift and authoritative with a good deal of backbone for casts into the next county. A terrific streamer rod though it was likely intended for tournament casting. Includes the original bag and no tube.

There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
