A nice Hardy Marvel bamboo rod 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, marked for a #4 or #5 line though I think I might want to try it for a #3 as well. Serial #H62964. Weighs 2.9 ounces. Used condition but full length and very good with no varnish issues. A slight amount of ridging from cleaning the grip. On the slow side of medium and full flexing. Ferrule fits are good and the varnish shows no signs of gumminess. The cane is a wheatstraw oven temper in a three up node pattern. The wraps are green with gold edges fore and aft. Grey agate stripping guide and light wire bronzed reverse twist snake guides. The maker listed this rod as a #5 or #4 but I might try a #3 and see if it likes that. The inscription is the usual Hardy slanting around the rod. The grip is 5" long and a slim cigar. The reel seat is all cork with a petite aluminum ring with the serial # stamped on it. The bottom is a formed one-piece aluminum pocket cap and is stamped "Made by, Hardy's, England". The ferrules are oxidized and come fitted with aluminum and cork ferrule plugs. The rod is packed in a green cloth bag with the Hardy logo and a green Hardy data card tied to the bottom, in a Hardy aluminum tube with an aluminum top. One of Hardy's most desirable models with a taper loved by many.
