For sale here is a scarce Hardy Palakona "The Fairchild" bamboo rod. Eight feet, three sections with two tips, for a five weight line. The rod is completely original and in excellent+ condition. All sections are full-length and straight. Green silks with full intermediates. Aluminum cap and ring over all-cork reel seat. There's a "0" stamped into both males and the female ferrule. Serial number H8670 made in 1956. Weighs 3.85 oz. Complete with ferrule plugs. Comes with its original Hardy bag and tube.
From Schwiebert's Trout Tackle II: "The Hardy Fairchild was introduced in about 1925. It was developed before the First World War for Tappan Fairchild, using the basic tapers of the Casting Club of France.
