A very nice Hardy Palakona "Salmon Deluxe" fly rod, 9'6", 3-piece, 2 tips, built for a #7 line. Weighs 7.8 ounces. Lawn cast or only very slightly used at best - there is no sign of use, in fact, except for the start of a typical "casting crack" on the mid male wrap (common on many rods from repeated flexing). The action is a powerful but semi full-flexing feel for a #7 or perhaps even a #8 line. The Cane color is an oven tempered wheat straw done in a three up node configuration. Wraps are bright red with black edges. Chrome or stainless snake guides and tip tops show no wear. The step ferrules are oxidized. The grip is 9" long and shaped to a full wells profile. The reel seat is a hidden pocket uplocking screw lock with the spacer a black plastic or bakelite material. The screw barrel and nut are aluminum with a "Made by Hardy's England" stamp. A black rubber button screws out and a 6" fighting butt can be screwed in. The fighting butt stores in the bottom of a blue heavy cloth tie string bag meant for the rod with a Hardy logo embroidered on the bag and a large card from Hardy with care tips and the rod data. The rod comes with ferrules plugs and is straight as the day it left the shop. Nice rod here.
