For sale here is a Hardy Perfect with the highly coveted 1912 check mechanism. 3 3/8" diameter. Full length and unaltered smooth brass foot. The fine ivory handle spins freely. Strap over tensioner works perfectly. Stamped "13" throughout. There are no cracks and no line grooves, just a bit of surface wear to the leaded surface where line stripping occurred and an overcoat of some sort of protectant or paint on the leaded surface. There are a few very small dings to the frame and some very slight imperfections to the outer spool surface as well. Additionally, one of the parts inside has been replaced but it was expertly carried out as the operation of the reel is top-notch and the fit is nice and tight. You can see the bright brass component with the two replaced screws in the attached photos. The reel weighs 6 7/8 oz. (with the backing) and the reel foot length is 2 7/8".
If you have ever wanted to fish with a 1912 Perfect and haven't been quite able to afford a collectable example, this is your opportunity. It's a very fine fishing reel, mechanically sound and quite a looker!
