A Hidenobu Kotake (Bum Rod) "A8F" model bamboo fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial #538. The rod weighs 3.6 ounces. New condition. Medium action. This rod is built in a deformed octagon construction and hollow in the butt and mid. Flamed cane, medium tan color with darker patches. Three up node pattern for the butt and mid section, though the tips depart from this a bit. Excellent varnish. The main wraps are black with small yellow edges. Carbide ring stripper and light wire black nickel snake guides. The ferrules are super truncated swiss with jet block oxidation. The grip is 6 1/4" long and formed to a heavy full wells with only a very slight swell in the middle. The cap and ring seat has jet black oxidation to the nickel silver hardware. The flatted tiger maple seat has an excellent coat of varnish. The rod comes with a red cloth bag with the "Bum" logo. The aluminum tube has gold anodized hardware and another "Bum" logo sticker.
