An H.L. Leonard Model 41 bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #7 line. Serial #3757 circa 1977-78. 4.9 ounces. Mint or near-mint condition. Medium to medium-slow action. A good big-water rod. Wheat-straw color cane with a three-up node pattern. Typical Leonard-of-the-period brush-coat finish. The main wraps are tan with brown at the keeper and ferrules, and brown edges on all. Carbide stripper guide and chrome snake guides and tip-tops. The step ferrules are polished bright. The ferrule fits are good and the rod is straight. The grip is a 6 1/2" long medium cigar. The reel seat is a downlocking screw-lock of aluminum with a nickel silver pocket cap. The cap is stamped "The Leonard Rod, H.L. Leonard Rod Co., Makers." Varnished butternut spacer. The rod comes with a non-original bag and the original Leonard tube with data sticker.
