For sale here we have an 8' 2/2 5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Rob Hoffhines, built off of the Dickerson 8013 taper. Serial no. 411. The rod is in mint condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features mottle-flamed cane with a unique appearance and 2x2 node spacing. The wraps are translucent with chestnut tipping. The ferrules are wrapped in oxblood. The winding check and signature wrap are wrapped in a black and bronze variegated thread with chestnut tipping. Oxidized hardware with the exception of the reel seat. Caramel-colored agate stripping guide. Loop hook keeper. Sculpted nickel silver hexagonal winding check. The cigar grip is just shy of 6 1/2", there is a small amount of filler in the cork near the nose. Nickel silver down-locking reel seat with a beautifully figured burlwood spacer. The ferrule fit is excellent. The rod weighs 4.80 oz. Medium-fast action. Includes original bag and labeled aluminum tube.
