For sale here we have one of Gary Howells' personal salmon and steelhead fly boxes (Wheatley). The flies were tied by Howells himself -they are in exceptional condition and well tied as Howells was a very accomplished tyer. The flies were tied between 1960-1970.
There are 4 rows of 5 larger clips in the lid and bottom of the boxes and 5 rows of 7 smaller clips on the front and back of the center leaf. The box is in excellent condition and free of defects. The hinges, clasps, and clips are all in fine working order. The box dimensions are 6" (L) x 3 5/8" (W) x 1" (D).
All of the flies are in excellent condition, most of them if not all are unused.
