Set in the Waverley types. Title page printed in green and black. With hand-colored plates of flies after watercolors by Edgar Burke - with perfect condition tissue guards. Chapter head initials by John Atherton. This book is bound in green weave cloth with paste-on spine and cover labels. Comes with original chocolate brown cloth slipcase with paper titling label. The book is in perfect condition as are the tissue guards. The slipcase has wear on the corners and the spine? of the slipcase has slightly separated (see photo).
What makes this offering unique is the letter that accompanies it. On Anglers Club stationery is a typed and signed letter from Sparse Grey Hackle to the original owner. This letter is in perfect condition as well.
Mr. Hunt was a former President of the Anglers Club of New York and the Leonard "Hunt" series of bamboo rods were initiated by his request for a slightly faster action compared to other Leonard rods he fished with.
