A nice John Pickard Model 795 bamboo rod, 7'9", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. I believe this is John's rendition of the classic Paul Young Para 14 taper. Authoritative, fast but full flexing action. The rod weighs 3.7 ounces on my scale. Excellent overall condition, the rod appears to have been little used, perhaps lawn cast only even. Flamed mottled cane done in a three up node pattern. The rod has a keeper, a carbide stripper, and bronzed guides. Wrapped medium-light brown throughout. The oxidized swiss-style ferrules fit perfectly. The grip has a half wells profile that transitions into an all cork reel seat with an oxidized cap and ring. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag and aluminum tube with brass fittings.
