For sale here is a Marty Karstetter Hollow-Built Bamboo Rod - 8'6 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 20013. The rod is in excellent used condition. All sections are full length, void of repairs, and straight.
The rod features transparent caramel brown silks against moderately tempered cane. Chestnut tipping at the winding check, stripping guide, ferrules, and tip-tops. Agate stripping guide. Blued hardware throughout with lightly blued guides. Modified E.C. Powell-style grip 5 7/8" in length, slightly soiled from use but would clean up smartly if desired (no ridging present). Oxidized cap and ring reel seat over a fine mortised walnut spacer. "Marty Karstetter Maker" engraved on butt cap with a bit of bluing loss. Swiss-style truncated ferrules with a perfect fit, nice and tight. The rod weighs in at 3.70 oz. with a very nice dry-fly action on the faster side of medium-fast. Capable of great accuracy, excellent mending, and tippet protection. Comes with original bag and aluminum rod tube with logo.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
