For sale here is an Alan Kube 7' 2/2 4wt bamboo rod. Custom grade, serial no. 17312. Made in 2012. The rod is in excellent+ condition. All sections are full length and straight.
Lightly straw colored cane. Transparent honey colored wraps with black tipping. Lightly blued guides. Amber colored agate stripping guide. The tips are numbered for convenience. Handsome swelled butt. Cigar grip 5 3/4" in length with the plastic still in place. There is light soiling around the nose where the plastic is not present. Blued nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a gorgeous mortised spalted maple spacer. There is some very light wear near the top of the mortise. Slight bluing loss around the rim of the butt cap. The blued step-down ferrules are custom made with "A. Kube" stamped into each ferrule. The ferrules are size 11/64 with an excellent fit and include a custom-made ferrule plug. The rod weighs 3.65 oz. The action is on the fast side of medium-fast. The mildly swelled butt provides power and speed while the thin tips allow for finesse and tippet protection. A deadly dry-fly rod.
Includes original bag with pocket for ferrule plug and original tube with label. The tube also features heavy brass fittings with rod information stamped into the cap. Kube is a master craftsman as seen in his rods. Don't miss out on this one, it won't disappoint.
