For sale here is an Alan Kube 7'9" 4/2 5wt bamboo rod. Custom grade and built from a D.L. Whitehead travel rod taper. Serial no. 10807. Made in 2007. The rod is in excellent condition with light wear from honest fishing. All sections are full length and straight. Lightly tempered cane. Transparent honey colored wraps with red and black tipping. Lightly blued guides. Agate stripping guide. The tips are numbered for convenience. Cigar grip 6 3/8" in length with only light soiling. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a mortised Chechen burl spacer. There is some wear near the top of the mortise and the back of the spacer as well as some loss of bluing around the rim of the butt cap. Stamped into the butt cap is, "A. Kube Maker". The blued truncated Swiss-style ferrules are custom made with "A. Kube" stamped into each ferrule. The ferrule sizes are 9/64, 12/64, and 17/64 all with an excellent fit and include custom made ferrule plugs. The rod weighs 4 5/8 oz. The action is a swift medium-fast with delicate tips and a stout butt. An excellent travel rod from a very fine rod maker. Includes original bag with a pouch for ferrule plugs and original handmade tube with label. The rod information is also engraved into the brass tube cap.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
