For sale here is a beautiful Ron Kusse 7'6" 3/2 5wt bamboo rod with a marked weight of 3 3/4 oz. Serial no. 9470. The rod remains in mint condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features a classic straw-toned cane finish with transparent honey wraps. The winding check and ferrules are wrapped in chestnut tipped in honey and burgundy. Blued guides, the feet of which have been ground flat for a smoother wrap. Handsome swelled butt. Blued nickel silver hexagonal winding check. The cigar grip is 5 7/8" in length with only the slightest handling marks. Bright nickel silver uplocking reel seat over a cherry wood spacer. The sliding band features the "RON KUSSE MAKER" stamp. The truncated Swiss-style ferrules are size 9/64 and 15/64 with a perfect fit. The rod weighs in at 4.60 oz. The terrific dry fly action is on the faster side of medium-fast, thanks in part to the swelled butt. This is balanced nicely with the thin sensitive tips that allow for finesse and tippet protection. The tips are mirrored so as to provide consistent action regardless of the tip being used. Includes original yellow bag with Leonard-style tag and the original tube with brass fittings.
