A nice Leonard 40H fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, for what feels to me like a fast DF for a #6 or a bit slower for a #7. Serial #2297. 4.4 ounces. 1974 manufacture date. Used but good overall condition. Faster action than usual. Red wraps, blonde cane done up in a 3 up node pattern. The varnish is very good with no defects. There is a little bit of crazing on some of the guide wraps and the usual ferrule wrap crack. 6" blunt cigar grip. Polished ferrules and hardware. Downlocking square thread screwlock with a nickel silver pocket cap. The pocket cap is stamped "The, H.L. Leonard Rod Co, Makers" in a cartouche. The wood spacer is butternut. The rod is full length and should provide years of serviceable use. Comes in a yellow poplin bag with stiffener. Brass topped aluminum tube with the Leonard data sticker which reads "40H, 8 ft, 4 1/4-4 3/8 oz, 7 wt, ser #2297".

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
