HL Leonard Appalachian Trail Duracane Bamboo Rod 8' 4/2 #4/5


For sale here is a H.L. Leonard Duracane "Appalachian Trail" 8' 4/2 4-5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 1806. Built during Ted Simroe's tenure. Quite a rare configuration from Leonard. The rod is in excellent overall condition. All sections are full length and straight. 

Impregnated Duracane finish with darkly tempered cane. Emerald green wraps. Blued guides and nickel silver ferrules. Ring hook-keeper. The script remains clean and bold. Sculpted nickel-silver winding check. The cigar grip is 6" in length and only mildly soiled. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a varnished butternut spacer with a nickel silver butt cap featuring the Leonard stamp. The ferrules are size 9/64, 14/64, and 18/64 with an excellent fit, nice and tight. Indented witness marks on the ferrules. The rod weighs 4.65 oz. The action is medium-fast. Includes original bag and tube with brass fittings.

We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
