For sale here is a scarce H.L. Leonard Deluxe Model 805. 8’ 3/2 for a 5 weight line. This line of rods was only produced in 1984. The rod remains in excellent+ condition with minor signs of use. An acrylic finish devised by Walt Carpenter gives a truly lustrous straw colored surface; lemon yellow silks tipped hunter green is a nice departure from their more standard designs. Blued guides. Carboloy stripping guide. Ring hook-keeper. The script remains bold and clear. Mildly swelled butt. The previous owner strangely removed the original tissue paper from the cigar grip but left the narrow tape in place on the cork. It will be left to the next owner to remove or keep. Elegant nickel silver cap and ring reel seat with the traditional butternut spacer. Leonard stamp on the butt cap. Ferrule sizes 15/64 and 9/64, the fit is nice and tight as it should be. The rod weighs 3.95 oz. Leonard described the rod in their catalog as offering "a crisp medium action pleasing to most anglers."
Includes original bag and Maxwell-type tube with Leonard logo die stamp. Also included with the sale will be a copy of the relevant page from 1984 Leonard catalog. It is quite rare to see a rod from this series come up for sale. Don't miss out!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
