For sale here is a late 1970's H.L. Leonard Model 39 bamboo rod -- 7'6" 2/2 for a 5 weight line. Serial no. 2508. Listed weight of 3 5/8 oz. The rod is in excellent+ original condition.
Straw colored blonde cane with crimson wraps and green tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Deeply blued guides. Handsome swelled butt. Ring hook keeper. The cigar grip measures 5 1/2" in length with mild soiling. Down-locking reel seat over a butternut spacer with a nickel silver butt cap. The step-down ferrules have an excellent fit and feature indented witness marks. The rod weighs in at 3.40 oz. The action is very smooth, on the medium side of medium-fast with terrific recovery. Includes original yellow bag with stiffening dowel and original tube with label fully intact.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
