For sale here is an H.L. Leonard Model 40H bamboo rod. The rod is 8' 2/2 for a 6 weight line. Serial #3194. The rod is in excellent original condition with one exception. There is a node lift on one of the tip sections between the 1st and 2nd guides up from the male ferrule. I would recommend having a rodmaker place a protective wrap over this node before fishing this tip. All sections are full length with slight sets in both tips.
The rod features blonde, straw-colored cane with honey wraps and cinnamon tipping. The winding check and male ferrules are the reverse. Bright guides. Slightly swelled butt. The black script indicating the serial number on the butt and tip sections remains clean and bold. Ring hook keeper. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat over a butternut spacer. There is slight wear to the seat and spacer.
The bright nickel silver ferrules are size 14/64 with an excellent fit. Indented witness marks on the ferrule shoulder. The rod weighs in at 4.70 oz. The rod has a wonderful medium-fast action. Includes original bag with stiffening dowel and tube with brass fittings and red and silver foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
