For sale here is a pre-fire H.L. Leonard Model 50DF Tournament 8' 3/2 5wt bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent condition and appears to be original. All sections are full length and straight.
Transparent gold wraps. Emerald and gold tipping at the winding check, male ferrules, and tip-tops. Blued English-style reverse guides. Bronzed ring hook keeper. Gradually swelled butt. Classic cigar grip 5 1/4" in length with moderate soiling but in fantastic condition and very smooth. Bright nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a mortised butternut spacer. "Tournament" is stamped on the butt cap along with the pre-fire Leonard stamp and a bull's eye pattern on the bottom. The nickel silver ferrules are size 10/64 and 15/64 with an excellent fit. Indented witness marks on the ferrule shoulders. The mid to tip ferrule connection has a slight ticking so the new owner may prefer to have the mid-female ferrule reset. The rod weighs 3.75 oz. The action is just slightly on the medium side of medium-fast. Includes the original bag with hang-tag intact as well as the original tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
