For sale here is an all-original green-wrapped Leonard Duracane SDF (Salmon Dry Fly) bamboo fly rod. 8' 2/2 for a 7wt line. Serial #1744. Excellent condition. Great ferrule fit. The rod has the Leonard up-locking aluminum reel seat. Also features a detachable 2" extension butt. The cork is slightly soiled but otherwise in great condition. All sections are full length and straight. Two Carboloy strippers, reversed half-wells grip, bright guides, conventional Leonard ferrules, ring style hook keeper.The rod weighs 5 1/8 oz and the ferrules are size 15/64. Original bag with stiffener and replacement tube.
The 1973 Leonard catalog states, "In keeping with today's trend toward lighter salmon and steelhead tackle and toward increased popularity of salt water fly fishing, Leonard offers these light yet powerful salmon dry-fly rods (SDF). These rods provide the necessary power to cast large bulky flies without fatigue, and you can now enjoy hours of "easy" fishing. Because of their use in or near salt water, all Leonard SDF rods are mounted with special hard chrome over stainless steel guides and tip-tops."

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
