For sale here is a very rare pre-fire H.L. Leonard Model 38ACM bamboo rod -- 7 feet with two sections and two tips. Excellent original condition. The varnish is in good condition with some use marks as one would expect, though nothing of concern. All sections are full length and reasonably straight. One tip has a slight set. Teal colored silks. Oxidized guides. The cigar grip measures 4 1/2" with light soiling and some ridging concentrated at the nose of the grip. Cap and ring over a rarely seen white cedar spacer. The seat will only allow a reel foot 2 1/4" in length and quite thin. A Leonard Fairy reel would be a wonderful match. The bright nickel silver ferrules are size 10/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 2 1/8 oz. Medium side of medium fast action, best with a three weight line in my opinion. Capable of accurate casts as well as delicate placement on still water. A fantastic small water specialist ahead of its time in terms of design and function.
Includes original bag with hang tag and stiffening dowel as well as the original tube with brass fittings. A rare find and an exceptional fishing rod.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
