For sale here is a pre-fire Leonard Model 49DF Tournament bamboo rod -- 7 1/2 feet, 3/2 for a 4 or 5 weight line. Excellent restored condition. Restoration was performed by Bob Taylor. All sections are full length and straight. Ruby red wraps with matching ruby colored agate stripping guide. Blued guides. Bronzed ring hook keeper. Handsome swelled butt. Nickel silver winding check. Classic, original cigar grip 5" in length with moderate soiling and some light ridging. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer. There is some wear to the back side of the spacer from years of use with the sliding ring. Nickel silver ferrules are size 10/64 and 15/64, the fit is excellent. Witness marks are indented into the ferrule shoulders. The rod weighs 3 3/4 oz. The action is a quite swift medium fast dry-fly. The fine tips lend themselves well to precise soft casts as well as tippet protection. Rod includes original bag and tube with brass fittings.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
