An HL Leonard model 39H fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #5 or #6 line. Serial #365. 3.8 ounces. Fair condition. On the faster side of medium. The grip has soiling, the varnish has been retouched, and one wrap has been recoated with something that I can't determine. There is a clear wrap below the tip top on one top. Some wear to the guides. 1968 manufacture date is my guess. The ferrule fits are good, the rod comes with a ferrule plug and is nice and straight. Blonde cane wrapped red with an extra edge of green and red at the keeper and male ferrule. The grip is a slim cigar 5 1/2" long. The reel seat is a downlocking screw lock with square thread of aluminum and the pocket cap is nickel silver. The stamp reads: "HLL, H L Leonard Rod Co, Makers" and the spacer wood is butternut. The bag is an orange rust color replacement but the tube is original with the brass top and bottom.
